copying: workbook 3.1

copying geometric shapes

Why copying activities are important

Copying activities stimulate child’s eye - hand coordination. When children draw geometric shapes their brains compare their lines with original shapes. This process strengthen visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.

Worksheets and activities in this workbook

Activities and tasks (87 worksheets) in this workbook are designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by copying different geometric shapes. Moreover, activities strengthen shape and size constancy concepts.

Activities and tasks difficulty increase throughout the workbook in three ways:

  • by decreasing size of shapes to be copied,

  • by increasing complexity of of shapes to be copied,

  • by increasing task difficulty.
