SPATIAL ORGANIZATION

Workbooks and worksheets designed to stimulate the concept of space development.

Individual tasks include connectiong dots with lines, connecting dots in grids, drawing loops in grids, etc.

When children do these activities, their eyes compare emerging lines with initial task. This comparison is followed by hand and fingers micro-movements to correct the direction according to the task.

The whole process strenghten visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.

Why these activities are important

Drawing straight lines between dots, copying patterns in grids, or drawing loops in grids stimulate child’s eye-hand coordination  and visual-motor integration. When children do these tasks, their eyes compare emerging lines and their direction with original patterns. Such comparison is followed by hand and fingers micro-movements correcting the drawing. The whole process strenghten visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.

Drawing lines between dots stimulate acquisition of space concepts which later play important role in development of writing, drawing, and other important grapho-motor and fine-motor skills. Tasks in which children look for the shortest distance between different dots stimulate visual discrimination. Tasks involving directions changes contribute to the development of micro-movements perception and kinestetic awareness.

workbook 1.1

Connecting dots

-

lines

Number of worksheets: 72

Activities and tasks in this workbook are designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by asking children to connect two or multiple dots set in a limited space.

Activities and tasks follow from easier to more complex and difficult ones, their difficulty being increased in three ways: (a) by increasing number of dots in a series from two dots upwards, (b) by increasing distance between dots, (c) by increasing angles between lines to be drawn between dots.

workbook 2.1

Connecting dots

-

patterns

in

grids

Number of worksheets: 73

Activities and tasks in this workbook are designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by asking children to copy patterns in grids. When a child draws a line from one to another dot his or her eyes follow the evolving line and simultaneously compare it with the original pattern.

Activities and tasks follow from easier to more complex and difficult patterns.

workbook 3.1

Connecting

dots

-

shapes

Number of worksheets: 68

Activities and tasks in this workbook are designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by asking children to copy shapes in grids. When a child draws a line from one to another dot his or her eyes follow the evolving line and simultaneously compare it with the original pattern.

Activities and tasks follow from easier to more complex and difficult shapes.

Activities and tasks in this workbook are designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by asking children to copy or continue large loop-like patterns in a 8 x 8 dots grid.

Activities and tasks in this workbook range from easier to more complex and difficult ones.

workbook 4.2

Drawing loops

in

8 x 8

grid

medium

and

small

Number of worksheets: 65

Activities and tasks in this workbook are designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by asking children to copy or continue medium or smill sized loop-like patterns in a 8 x 8 dots grid.

Activities and tasks in this workbook range from easier to more complex and difficult ones.
