SHAPE
CONSTANCY
Activities in this section include finishing unfinished shapes, and tracing.
When we draw missing parts of shapes, our eyes visually guide the fine movements of our hands and fingers.
When we follow dotted lines with pencils or with other drawing tools, our eyes simultaneously follow and compare emerging lines with original ones.
As our brains compare our lines with drawings of complete shapes, they initiate micro-movements of our hands and fingers to correct emerging shapes.
