shape constancy: workbook 6.1
tracing and finishing shapes - small
Why tracing and finishing shapes activities are important
Tracing and finishing activities stimulate eye - hand coordination. When we trace over dotted lines or complete missing parts of shapes, our brains simultaneously follow and compare evolving lines with original shapes. Both types of tasks strengthen visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.
Worksheets and activities in this workbook
Activities and tasks in this workbook are designed for strengthening visual-motor integration and fine-motor control by tracing and finishing different unfinished shapes. Task difficulty increase throughout the workbook in three ways:
-
with increasing complexity of shapes (from circle to more complex shapes),
-
with increasing number of missing fragments in shapes,
-
with increasing length of missing fragments.
